Mr Adam Liberman, General Counsel, CSIRO
Mr Adam Liberman has been General Counsel for CSIRO since August 2006, in which role he provides legal advice and support to the CSIRO Chief Executive, Board and Executive Team members.
He has over 30 years of experience in law, specialising in intellectual property and its use in commercial and corporate contexts. Adam has advised a wide spectrum of parties involved in the innovation process, including research institutes, start ups, venture capitalists, investment banks, SMEs, large Australian and multinational corporations on transaction and governance issues. Prior to joining CSIRO, Mr Liberman was most recently a partner at Freehills in the Corporate section.
Mr Liberman has written and spoken widely on intellectual property, its management and commercialisation including at the request of organisations such as the Australian Graduate School of Management and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (in Indonesia, India and Singapore). He is Secretary of Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), the largest professional body worldwide dealing with intellectual property and commercialisation issues, with over 12,000 members in 80 countries.
