Derek Sicklen

Derek Sicklen is currently Vice President, Alternative Asset Management for JP Morgan & Co.  He has held several senior marketing positions, achieving record growth in market share in both retail and institutional business, and also served as a securities analyst in a private investment company. He was a proprietary trader for a US bank before successfully establishing his own business as an economic consultant and proprietary investor. He resumed his advisory functions in 1998 when he headed the Asian futures business of Jardine Fleming, the profitability of which he increased six-fold in under three years. Derek managed 60 staff in six countries, having set up new operations in Korea and India.

From 2001 to 2004 he was Asian head for JPMorgan's hedge fund of funds business with responsibility for asset raising and first round hedge fund manager due diligence.
He raised assets in Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand and Japan. He conducted hedge fund manager due diligence in four countries across a range of hedge fund strategies. Over this period Derek developed an earnings and value based quantitative programme for application to US stocks.

Derek holds a B.Ec. and a Dip.Ed. from the University of Sydney. He has been a past Director of the Sydney Futures Exchange and has held licences from securities regulators in Australia and Hong Kong. http://platypuscap.com/people.aspx
