LOOKING TO THE FUTURE AFTER A DECADE OF DISCOVERY
At a gala dinner to celebrate the first decade of the Australian Business Foundation, Chairman of the Foundation Mr Peter Janssen tonight congratulated the eclectic group of people who shared the foresight to see the advantages of such an organisation to Australia, including the founding sponsor, then Australian Business Limited but now known as the NSW Business Chamber
Reflecting on the achievements of the Foundation as an activist, thought leader, intelligence source and researcher, Mr Janssen paid tribute to the many people who had played a vital role in substantiating the Foundation's role in Australian business.
"We are indebted to those who envisaged a vehicle for high calibre, objective, analytic research combined with the best street-wise policy advocacy for Australia’s prosperity," he said.
Mr Janssen added:"Their aim of focussing on the high impact issues that go to the heart of Australia’s competitiveness using the best policy brains worldwide continues to serve us well."
The evening saw a broad cross section of the business, government and academic communities gather at the Australian National Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour to hear the latest intelligence from University of Hong Kong Professor Michael Enright, described as "one of the world's leading strategy gurus" by the Academy of International Business.
